Burials for 2x Grandparents- Rafeenan, Co. Monaghan
« on: Sunday 28 February 16 20:35 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find out where my 2x Great grand parents are buried. On both death records it stated the place of death was Rafeenan, as well the Informant was their daughter-in-law Mary Graham which also stated on the record her address being Glasslough Street, Monaghan. They were Church of Ireland and are Thomas and Elizabeth Graham. Thomas died 1892 and Elizabeth 1882. It was suggested Creevagh Church, but I can't find any burial names for that church and it seems far from Rafeenan. Can anyone help me please and thank you?

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

Thanks again but after checking did not see their names. This is my problem. I have no way of finding out any burial grounds around Rafeenan area when I search on-line. I am going to Ireland in June to do research at PRONI in Belfast and was hoping to find out where they were laid to rest, so I could visit and pay my respects.

Once again, thanks anyway for your help.  Take care,

Thank you for the link to St. Dympna's Church which after checking I couldn't find any Graham headstones.  I will contact St. Dympna's C of I to see if they have on record a burial in the cemetery in case a marker was never erected. The date of marriage for Thomas and Elizabeth Martin that you provided confirms that this was their church so I will try and get their in June when I'm over. Take care and all the best,

Susan

Cathriona at the Library has indexed all the deaths in local newspaper, perhaps they had obituaries in newspaper?
