Brunel Street, Gateshead
« on: Monday 07 March 16 23:09 GMT (UK) »
Hello there,

my Grandmother was born at 48 Brunel Street, Gateshead in 1911. Just wondering if anybody has any  historical pictures of the street. I live near Liverpool and managed to have a very brief visit last month but seems that all the old houses have been knocked down for a new development (although there may have been others since?). Just after any info really so I can pass on to my mum,

many thanks,
Richard

Hope this helps...

This is Brunel Street in Newcastle, off Scotswood Road. The caption says "Winter 1956. A quiet winter Sunday on Brunel Street looking up past McCormick's shop and car to Penn Street."
You can see this Brunel Street and Penn Street on the map at http://maps.nls.uk/view/101099339#zoom=5&lat=2434&lon=5067&layers=BT
