Who ived at the Road House in Old Woking?

My grandfather was Jack from A & J Simmons. I have looked for many years to find reference to the old company. Can anyone point me in the right direction as the old company files etc went when the company sold in the early 70's. Interesting to see a note from 'Get Surrey', how do you find this?

Sorry I don't remember anything about the company other than seeing their 'boards' around Woking in the late 1950's.  Muffin41 may have other memories

A & J Simmons was always in Elmbridge Lane, Kingfield, Woking when I lived in Woking up to 1971.
I did not have the time to see any files of the Company at the Surrey History Centre. No Information about the Road House either.
An email to them asking if they have any documents is worth a try if you cannot go there yourself.
A search in any would cost ca £36.

Yes; 1 High Street is at the junction of Kingfield & Westfield.
(Roadhouse Estate is not used as a mailing address now )

I searched "Historical Directories" under the key "road house". It returned 5 hits for Surrey.

The Directory for 1913 includes a hit on page 500 for "Rood house" (OCR "misread").

It's clearly Rood not Road house - a mistake by those compiling the Directory?

I haven't checked the results of the 4 earlier Directories for  Surrey.

Reginald H Pott is showing there in 1918 Kelly's also 1920 Phone book and 1924 Kelly's

Annoyingly he does not have middle name just initial on Woking info but I suspect he is Reginald Henry who appears in Kensington after this period.  That RHP had freedom of the city of London. Probate in 1957 - £78048. 0s. 2d.  I think he worked in the Stock Exchange.
