Hi - sorry am not sure. All I have is Katherine's obituary which has her arrival and her year of birth being 1860. I thought it was more likely 1864 as she was 18 when she arrived in Brisbane in 1882.

Good question, it looks like Mary and the surname doesn't look like Boyle.

Thank you for this. I can see how the Carden name fits. From Katherine's obituary it says "Her father, Martin O'Mara, was manager for Colonel Carden". Johanna is living in the household as a servant to Richard Carden, who I'll guess is possibly a son of the Colonel.

It also has Martin's wife being 'Mary'. Maybe this is a second wife?
