Yes, the wife of Robert Joseph NEWMAN.

Just a little about Gertrude Frances ...

She was born at Islington, London, on 28* January 1903 (according to her baptism record) ... the daughter of Harry (Henry) and Louisa Frances MARTIN.
[*NZ BDM shows her d.o.b. as 25*/1/1903 ... 25 / 28  often mistranscribed. ]

She came to NZ as a 17-year-old with her parents and a number of siblings, by the "Ruapehu" in 1921 - the family settled in Auckland.

It does seem that the couple did some travelling to different parts of the world.
Can see records for Gertrude arriving back in NZ in 1962 (Ship: "Seven Seas") and 1963 ("Willem Ruys").    And Robert - 1954 (Ship: "Zuiderkruis") where he's listed as a "club steward".

Hopefully the newspaper death notice will clarify whether there was issue of the marriage.

Hi Lu thank you for all the further information there was talk down through the family that they may have had a child born to them but I am a little doubtful given Gertrudes age.
