ROBINSON, Anne Bailey (North Cray)
« on: Wednesday 23 March 16 06:58 GMT (UK) »
Anne (Bailey) Robinson worked as maidservant to the Marchioness of Londonderry at Cray Farm, North Cray, circa 1822. The only Anne Robinson I've been able to identify by means of online searching was only 16 years old at the time, so probably too young. I think she would have been in her '30s or possibly even older.

I'm an independent researcher from Australia studying earlier 19th century inquests into suicides. The Marquis of Londonderry is one of the most famous cases from this period. As Robinson was one of the two witnesses deposed at the inquest, she is obviously very important to my research. Can anyone help me find something out about her?

Newspaper reports of the inquest say that Anne was Mrs Ann Bailey Robinson.

Yes, she is referred to as Mrs. This is the reason I think she wouldn't have been the 16 year old.

But the spelling of Ann is not consistent - sometimes it's Anne.
