Searching for John Sorrell baptised 1757 married 1/5/1785 St. Leonards Shoreditch to a Jane Daniel and buried 24/2/1838 Cheshunt Hertfordshire, on his burial record it states Abode Waltham Cross Cheshunt Hertfordshire  does this mean he came from this place? as I am having hard time in finding out where he came from. :-[

That simply means that was his residence at the time of his death.
I am Australian, from all the lands I come (my ancestors, at least!)

Pine/Pyne, Dowdeswell, Kempster, Sando/Sandoe/Sandow, Nancarrow, Hounslow, Youatt, Richardson, Jarmyn, Oxlade, Coad, Kelsey, Crampton, Lindner, Pittaway, and too many others to name.
Devon, Dorset, Gloucs, Cornwall, Warwickshire, Bucks, Oxfordshire, Wilts, Germany, Sweden, and of course London, to name a few.

Hi

HALS shows SORRELL in the time-frame

[ All marriage register ]

 William Cock / Sarah Sorrell / Cheshunt / 3 Nov 1810

Frederick Jordan of Broxbourne / Jane Sorrell of Broxbourne / Broxbourne / 15 Apr 1849

William John Norris of Shepperton Terrace Islington / Ann Sorrell of Cheshunt / Cheshunt / 29 Aug 1844

 John Thurgood / Ann Sorrell / Sawbridgeworth / 28 Oct 1643

Maybe a clue there?
Other spellings of the surname may give results (Searl/Searle/Surl)

Clue? Only a general comment as you know the content of your tree and not I.

HALS has lots of Hertfordshire "Norris" names, should/could keep you occupied for hours.  :)
