Aileen Gladys Jones South African

Good Morning...Im trying to trace information on Aileen Gladys Jones, born in Wales (year unknown). I think she came to SA with her family as her father may have been a miner. She married Herbert William Donald Mavor (1913 to 1938) and they had a son Roderick William Donald Mavor (born in Queenstown,  1938 to 2006) but after her husband died she remarried and had another son....possibly surname Smit. Thats where l lost her....please help. Thank you

Do you have the death notice for Herbert?  If not PM me with your email address and I will see if I can obtain it for you.  I think that she possibly married a Nicolaas Wilhelmus Smit who died in 1960.  Her names there are listed as Gladys Eileen Jones - could well be an error at the Archives.

I see that the son was named Roderick Lydford William Mavor - born 10/5/1938 and died 2006 in Louis Trichardt. He was married and divorced twice.

I'm actually in contact with all four of Aileen's grandchildren but they know nothing about her..where she was born, when or when she died or year so if you could find that by any way that would be great. They thought she was born in Wales. Yes..once i checked my tree i realized l had copied Rodericks name down wrongly It was Roddy's first wife you told me about the second husband and she also said she thought they had a son as well?

Do you  know if Herbert William served any time at sea.  I have a Herbert William Donald Mavor serving on the SATS General Botha  : (South African Training Ship)
