Hi folks

Looking for some help please...

I have John Morrissey born abt 1840–1905   Tramore Co Waterford Ireland

Married Betsy Tobin born abt 1844 • Fenor/ Dunhill Co Waterford Ireland

Can anyone help to confirm these dates as I'm not sure how you discern Parish and Townland when looking at the records....

Thanks for any help offered

The Town of Tramore covers more than one townland, mainly Tramore East and Tramore West, both are in the Civil Parish of Drumcannon in the RC Parish of Tramore.
http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1122 But baptisms finish 1831 on the free site, you need RootsIreland for later dates.
Tramore RC parish covers 8 Civil parishes which will have lots of townlands.

The second place Dunhill and Fenor is a RC Parish covering 4 Civil Parishes which will have lots of townlands.

Hi Sinann

Many thanks for the info, The grandparents lived in Crobally, Tramore and I would like to try and find more info on them.
Thomas Morrissey born Dec 1870 in Tramore, married Mary Harney in Oct 1894 in Tramore and he
died in Apr 1954 in Tramore.

Thank you for taking the time to explain it's much appreciated

Regards

Hi Tomm
I have found a marriage for John Morrissey and Eliza Tobin in Tramore  on 24 Oct 1867.
John Morrissey's father is also called John and Eliza's father is recorded as James.

Hi Tomm,
Will certainly have a look for a date of death for Betsy. In the meantime I think John and Betsy had four children. Mary born 1868, Thomas 1870, Johanna 1872 and Catherine 1876. It seems that Johanna died young. You may have the following info already but if you search the 1901 census for Betsey Morrissey  location Waterford and 1911 census for Betsy Morrissey location Waterford you should be able to locate the family in Tramore. Also this link will give you access to what I think is a record of Johanna's death

Hope this helps.

Hi Tom,

I've just found your thread, after trawling the net, following a recent discovery of the following:

My Great Great Grandfather was Maurice Harney from the Dunhill area and he was married to Julia Landers, who I believe were Mary Harney's parents.

From the information I've read in some of your older posts, in different threads, I believe this is the same Mary Harney who married Thomas, back in 1897.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Patrick Harney
