perhaps anyway is of interest , is a misspelling etc http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/
William   MATTMAN (sic)   .   Donaghadee   b. Donaghadee; aged 56 ; an overseer; living in Glenaerm New Row, Tickmacrevan parish Co. Antrim in 1851 with his wife Agnes aged 53 (b. Donaghadee ) & son Thomas aged 17 (an apprenticed baker b. Co. Antrim)
so that maltman if he is one b ~1794-5  donaghadee, might be a cousin etc
have you searched for church records eg for 1st Presbyterian church, ros davies has
North of Ireland FHS (http://www.nifs.org ) has baptisms 1793-1921 & marriages 1805- 1936 & communicants 1879-1916 ; no graveyard
http://www.presbyterianireland.org/congregations/donaghadee1.html
http://www.emeraldancestors.com have a copy of the church booklet of 1925 with a church history on subscription

or try PRONI, Belfast
https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/sites/default/files/publications/Guide_to_church_records.pdfor the same church
North of Ireland FHS (http://www.nifs.org ) has baptisms 1793-1921 & marriages 1805- 1936 & communicants 1879-1916 ; no graveyard

1832 doesn’t include any Maltmans, if ths son b ~1834 it could be recorded in this parish see PRONI Belfast guide to church records
but thinking why did he go to there, spouse, coal ? mining,  no I found he leased a forge in glenarm, more likely learnt from his father

ancestryireland has
Francis   Maltman   1816   Alexander could be a brother
William   Maltman   1823   father William   Down
could this be a cousin

Beggs were living nearer to Ballywalter and Ballyhalbert alias St. Andrew
possibly in or near balltdoonan but ballydorn is in killinchy

oops reading others, I should have stopped earlier
stopping now good luck

I have a Joseph Maltman on my tree.
He was born 1829, not sure where, but he lived in Kilmood very close to Ballydorn. His father was William Maltman
Joseph married Ann Jane Stewart in Kilmood 10 May 1852.
She was the daughter of Alexander Stewart and Elizabeth Stewart of Ballywalter.
Joseph Maltman was 74 at the time of the 1901 Census and living at Ballydorn.
Not exactly the person you are looking for, but sometimes looking at a side branch may just give you a clue.
Good luck

I belong to the Maltmans of Ballydorn/Kilmood etc.
I am descended from Joseph's brother Henry (b.1836). Their parents were William Maltman (c. 1790)
and Jane Davidson. William's father was also William. They all lived in and around the Killinchy area, then moved on to Bangor and Belfast. One family went to Canada around 1830, and others went to Wilmington, Delaware, including Joseph's son Stewart. The name is frequently spelt MATMAN and other variations. Donaghadee was the main port of entry for County Down from Scotland. I have found a few Maltman families there in the early 1800's but they must have moved away or died out. As Killinchy is just a few miles down the road, I believe it's only a matter of time before both families link up. I'm working on this via NIFHS records. I lived in Bangor long ago, and know the area well. Any questions, just ask.
