Thank you Nell, hopefully we might get something from the Warwickshire Records.
Elizabeth Price was convicted 28 February 1840 and departed on 28th March 1840 on the Surrey for Australia (New South Wales)

I realise your Eliza/Elizabeth was not on the 1841 census, but I am trying to discover the connection between the two. I don't believe sisters, but possibly sister inlaws.

Hi Neil

Thank you for your research, Sister is written on the ships manifest, but like you say could easily be sisters-in-law or similar.  All is a help.

Thank you so much for the details re Thomas and Elizabeth.

I am not sure if they new each other in Birmingham, Thomas left in 1836 and Elizabeth would have been about 14 yrs.

This information re Elizabeth's Court appearance is really interesting, supplied by a gentleman from Birmingham on rootschat.

There's a report of the crime in the Birmingham Journal 24.1.1840.
It seems that she with a Sarah Job age 18  and John Farmer age 19  and Edward Evans age 19 were involved in robbing the grocers Horatio Cox and Benjamin Jefford of Bull St Birmingham ,stealing money and tobacco.
John and Edward did the actual breaking and entering and the girls received the goods. The man got ten years and Elizabeth and Sarah 7.
Elizabeth is 19 at the trial.
Sarah Job was caught at a house in Smallbrook St  while Elizabeth was found in the brewhouse at Vale St Birmingham.
