The Thomas Collin(s) that I found was baptised Campsall, 12 miles south of Brayton.

All the records I've found are on FindMyPast.

Mary Collins ~ dau of Thomas Collins labourer of Burn, son of Joseph Collins.

 Alice dau of Gershom Faithwait of Burn in this parish by Catherine his wife daughter of John Stephenson of Clifforth in the parish of Bramham, farmer.

Mary born 7 May 1790 bapt. May 8th 1790 dau of Thomas and Alice

There are no children that I can see in between 1809-1813

Son Georges baptism also states Thomas's father as Joseph Collins too.

Great - I've found the baptism at Campsall – looks likely! Strange that Thomas thinks in 1851 he was born in Smeaton, but it does happen...

Campsall and (Kirk) Smeaton are only a couple of miles from each other. It's possible father Joseph moved around for work.

It does look like the correct family, I wasn't aware how close the two parishes were :)

Oh gosh, yes they are close, 2.7 miles! Neighbouring parishes?!

So I have Joseph son of Joseph (Smeaton) and Thomas son of Joseph (Campsall) – can you see any others and indeed any idea of the parents?
