Feniton to Ottery St Mary then Lympstone ?
« on: Sunday 24 April 16 09:04 BST (UK) »
Our George Tillman (Jnr) born pre 1730 Died 1802, a Yeoman farmer ( well documented, during his life time as he ran the Sowden Estate Lympstone for Lord Heathfield).
                                        Searching for his Father.

On his Sun life insurance policies, he was always referred to as George Jnr - so in theory he would be the son of a George.

As you are well aware due to the work of  Hitler's demolition Mob the Devon archives have a gap !!

The only George Tillman that I can find is on the index for wills proved and is a George TILLMAN
spelt TILLINAN - died in 1739.He was a Yeoman farmer and Petty Constable in 1732 at Ottery St Mary - now on to fuzzy logic -, with only the following facts in 1729 he took on as apprentice William Walsh and again in 1732 Jane Row - would they have been passed on to 'our George's elder brother ? So proving a link.
Only George I can find previous in that area of Devon was born in Feniton 1692, married a Mary in 1721 could this be the Ottery St Mary George ?
