Kings Mill in Castle Donington - Hastings family
« on: Tuesday 26 April 16 12:57 BST (UK) »
The ancient Kings Mill on the river Trent west of Castle Donington adjoins the Donington Park
estate of Lord Moira and his successors. Does anyone know if Lord Moira or his family had a
financial interest in the Mill ? My GGG-Aunt Grace Kirkland was a lady-in-waiting to Lord Moira's
dau-in-law Barbara Rawdon-Hastings and she married Joe Dixon son of the Mill manager in 1845 -
the couple emigrated to Adelaide in 1849 after B R-H remarried. Did they meet as neighbours or
over some mill business ? Now in touch with their Aussie descendants.
