Maud Alice Turner and Herbert Ives
« on: Thursday 28 April 16 11:24 BST (UK) »
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone could find a marriage for Maud Alice (or Alice Maud) Turner, (born 1888) and Herbert Ives (born 1880) as I can't find one. According the 1911 census they got married in 1907. He was from Pentlow, Essex and she was from Blackfriars. I don't know where the marriage was but am assuming it was in Essex.

Also could someone confirm that Charles Henry Ives born 1913 Burnham is their son - just wanted to know I was on the right track.

Your help would be much appreciated.
Thank you
Vicky

Excellent thank you. I found Charles on family search with mothers name Turner so I assumed it was them but wanted to make sure I was on the right track before I did more research.

Hi, I'm transcribing parish records for Burnham. The marriage of Herbert Ives and Alice Maud Turner was not registered at Burnham parish church, and I can't find a baptism of Charles there in 1913.
Transcribing Essex records for FreeREG.
Current parishes - Burnham, Purleigh, Steeple.
Get in touch if you have any interest in these places!

I might have found Maud in 1901 with mother Alice (married) but no father at home on census night, several siblings and M A Cliver (mother of head of household - Maud Alice's grandmother??)

Same family in 1891, head Alfred Turner occ Captain of Barge - so an occupation likely to take him away from home and possibly sail round to Burnham on Crouch

Granny is Mary Cleaver
