Question re Bristol/Gloucestershire parish records
« on: Thursday 28 April 16 11:59 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know whether there are plans for more Bristol/Gloucestershire baptism & marriage records to be digitized and added to Ancestry or FindMyPast at some point? Specifically, I am talking about Westbury-on-Trym, but ideally also Bristol (city) as well. There are currently some Westbury-on-Trym index cards on Ancestry, but I am keen to find images of these records from the parish books so I can confirm some dates and add them as sources to my family tree.

For other parts of my family (f.e. in Surrey) I see that various records are being added over time, but sadly the Westbury lot are somewhat lacking in images.

Thanks.

As far as I am aware, those Parish Registers from Gloucestershire currently available are those from Gloucestershire Archives?

Nothing from Bristol Archives has yet been handed to either Ancestry of FindMyPast.

It's all to do with which Doicese the parish was part of?

Not being overly familiar with that area, I'm afraid I do not know for sure. Most of the stuff I want will certainly be from Westbury-on-Trym, and so I suppose it depends which batch of records they would be part of.
