Whiteside of Aghagaskin,Magherafelt
« on: Friday 29 April 16 11:57 BST (UK) »
Hi All
Looking for further information on the Whiteside families mentioned in the 1766 Religious Census for Magherafelt, namely Jane (widow),Edward and John. Found a John Whiteside buried in Bridewell,Magherafelt,d 9/12/1816 possibly same John.
1831 census mentions Richard at Aughagaskin and William at Glenmaquill.
Any information on this Family for the period 1750- 1850 would be appreciated

PRONI and Coleraine Library both have these records on microfilm.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

There’s a mention of John, Edward & Jane Whiteside (widow) in this book which gives a history of Magherfelt. All were Church of Ireland:

No mention of Whiteside in Aghagaskin in the summary of families in each townland.

If you plan on viewing the film at Coleraine Library best to reserve a microfilm reader beforehand.
