I had a message on Dorset page asking about Minnie Taylor.
Found she had a brother Charles 1881 census but he was born in Lambeth 1875.Sometimes he seems to be James C Taylor can find nothing on him only on this census wondered if anyone could help me.Mother was Mary Ann and father James taylor.

    thank you

How can you have him as an alternative James c Taylor,  and claim to have him only on the 1881 as Charles.

Looking at Freebmd he doesn't seem to be registered as James C Taylor as the only one around that time in Lambeth is a James Lewis G Taylor June quarter 1879. There are 4 Charles Taylors - 2 just Charles and 2 Charles Henry.

Thank you for helping but not sure where the 2 names came and went but after the 1891 census I lost him.
Could very well be the fathers death as on the 1881 census  Mary Ann  listed as widow

Perhaps he was registered as just Charles and the James was added after his father died.
