INDIA: Alexena Maud Wright b.1916

Hi, I am researching my husband's maternal grandmother, Alexena Maud Wright, who was born April 1916 in India. Her father was Charles Wright and mother was possibly named Norah. Her brother Eugene was born in 1912 (possibly in India) and sister Mignon in 1919 (almost definitely in India as I have found a record of the family returning to England in 1932).

It is believed by some family members that Charles (born 1876 in Portsmouth) was working on the railways in India as a mechanic and that they lived in the Delhi area.

I have tried a few searches online for these family members but haven't found anything - I assume I'm looking in the wrong places, or perhaps the records I'm looking for aren't online?

Any help would be very gratefully received! Thanks in advance!

FindMyPast have some records from India.

Eugene William Leslie Wright, son of Charles William Robert and Norah Mabel, was born 4th April 1912 and baptised 16 May 1912. at St. Martins, Jhansi. Charles shown as a chargeman fitter with the railway.
Alexina Maud, baptised at same place in 1916 and Mignen Noreen in 1918.

Records are held at the British Library.

I don't have a subscription to FindMyPast, so I shall have to look into that in order to see those records for myself - thank you for letting me know the information they contain in the meanwhile!

I have now put Charles Wright's full name into my Ancestry tree and this has thrown up some anomalies:

It would appear Charles William Robert Wright was born in 1875 in India, which would not make him 22 in 1910. From other people's family trees, I gather that he was in fact married twice before he married Nora Mabel, which would fit with him being listed as a widower on the marriage entry.

Do you think I am looking at one and the same person, with an anomaly on the birth date, or could there be two different Charles William Robert Wrights in India? I'm inclined to think it's the same person, but would be very interested to hear what you all think.

There is a marriage in 1908 in Delhi;  Charles William Robert Wright and Elaine Pansy Mary McDonagh.  Charles is shown as 32, a widower, loco foreman EIR, but with a father Arthur Charles Wright.  Elaine is 19, a spinster.

Another one:

Charles WR Wright  (25, bachelor, loco foreman) to Mary Bourillion (21 spinster) in 1900 at Calcutta.  Arthur C. Wright shown as his father.

This could be Mary's death:  December 1907, buried as " wife of Railway Employee Charles Wright";  septic pneumonia;  followed a couple of weeks later by their son Charles (1 month) "son of Railway Employee Charles Wright and Mary, his late wife" at Sealdah.  Registers show this family were Roman Catholics.
