Lancashire RO at Preston

Does anybody visit here, or know of any reasonable research agents please?
I have just found a lot of my Cheshire people may be there, as they would have been tenants of the Earls of Derby, who were based at Knowsley (Liverpool), hence records now being at Preston. Phew!

From my own experience I have found that if there is a reference to a record you seek in the online Record Office catalogue, you can then request a cost estimate to have it emailed/ posted to you.
alternatively, you can always ask if some kind person is visiting the record office and can  get the record for you (you will compensate them for costs)

Are you saying that the people you are looking for were in Knowsley.

I have lots of references to documents concerning the Earls of Derby from the Lancashire RO catalogue, but they are things like rent rolls and Lease registers, so need to be searched for specific names and places, so not able to just get a simple copy from the RO. That's why I put out a plea for somebody to do some looking there for me. I haven't heard back from anyone, so I guess it's a research agent from the list on Lancs RO website.
The seat of the Earls of Derby is at Knowsley Hall lancsann. THe people I am looking for lived in Cheshire, not Knowsley, but the records are at Lancashire RO.
