Robert HAYLOCK - convict
« on: Wednesday 18 May 16 08:00 BST (UK) »
Robert HAYLOCK  convicted Cambridge, Ely Qr Sessions - 7 years

Transported on 'Moffatt' 1836

Three convicts died on the voyage and it seems he was not one of them. Very little can be found after his arrival.

Death 1863 in Victoria
Robert Haylock  Age 47
Parents names unknown
Birth place ELY

Certificate of Freedom possibly issued September 1842 ?

Am I correct in saying that would be reel 1012 and either Volume MMMM 15 Aug 42 - 17 Sep 42 or Vol NNNN 17 Sep 42 - 1 Nov 42?

Thanks,

Fred

I would expect that AJCP to be at the NSW State Library  :)

Hi JM,

Thanks for the Muster.

Yes, I should have said transported to NSW.

I asked at the SLNSW last week and they said they had nothing that would help me.

Regards,

Fred

Perhaps they had not considered the AJCP  :)

Hi,

In your research it wouldn't take much for Haylock to become Haycock in some records, the important thing is the Moffatt (2).

The indent mentions a brother Thomas who had been transported a year before (he arrived on the John Barry). He seems to have been about the same age.

JM, I've not done a lot of work on the convicts in my tree except for the one who is in a direct line. I've only asked the staff at the library a few questions re convicts so not really sure how much they know about that line of research.
