I am useless at frebmd but now i am losing it completely. Just trying to verify Ediths birth...
so I had a look at Emma Florence because it was at St Saviours, where Archibald was registered. It shouldnt fit as Edith was born in Devon, but the image for

As a by the way, in 1871 Charlotte was in Cumbria boarding with 1 year old Percy. Tom was in Cheshire a lodger, bit odd? Suggestion he worked on the railways but you would have thought that charlotte would have been staying some where close if not together?! 1879 and 1880  Charlotte was in Birmingham for the birth of Alice and Henry.  The 1881 they were all together in London from then the whole family was around Finchley. Its a bit of a puzzle. I can only say poor woman all that moving around pregnant and with small children?!

I would look over all census records and other records to get a wider picture of his age. It may be that the informant got it slightly wrong. Also look at the latest residence information you have and try to find him on the electoral rolls. This may hekp you find the correct registration district.

You could apply for the certificate without the reference numbers as they will search a year either side of the year you provide, so this would cover both records. You can list last kown residence and occupation on the order and this may help them to send you the correct certificate.
