Help finding Thomason Wilson
« on: Thursday 26 May 16 11:05 BST (UK) »
My 3x great grandmother was Thomason/ Wilson born around 1810 and married my 3x great grandad Stephen Patterson in July 1827 in Houghton le Spring. They had at least 9 children.  The 1841 census says she was of this county so Durham, but in 1851 it says she was from Walker in Northumberland. She died in 1853 so she is not on any further census. I am having problems finding her baptism anywhere so wondered if someone else could try please. Her name is spelt differently which doesn't help. I have her as Thomperson on one census, Thomasin on another so unsure of how it is meant to be spelt. Thanks for any help in advance.

there is a tree on a*****y which has
Thomasin Wilson b 1810 Walker northumberland(source given as census)
Parents George Wilson (1760-1840)  &  Thomasin Hollyday (1760- 1840)

Don't know how well sourced it is

Forth entry from bottom of page  Penshaw BT's Co. Durham

If dad was from Newcastle that may explain the confusion over whether she was born in Walker or Co.Durham.

A  son Thomas was chr Houghton Le Spring 5 July 1812 - family lived at Philadelphia

Fiddlerslass.

Thank you so much, I had trawled through just about all the BT's on the familysearch website but must have missed this one. This one makes sense as 2 of their children were Thomas and Mary. I have found the original handwritten one now and I can see she was the 1st daughter so it gives me something to work on.  :)

Suzard, thank you so much for the pointer but when I looked its my tree!! I have absolutely no idea who those parents are and can't even remember putting them there. ??? They certainly aren't on my tree on the computer program. Off to delete those now but thank you for taking the time to answer.   :)

Flower Fairy,
If they followed the usual naming conventions then you may be looking for Thomas Wilson son of George (ist son 1804) and Mary Hymers/Hindmarch daughter of Edward (second son 1805).
