Scoonie cemetery
« on: Sunday 29 May 16 02:21 BST (UK) »
About 5 years ago someone graciously took a picture and sent me the inscription of a headstone at the Scoonie cemetery for William Armitt tenant Bankhead and his 5 children.  Their stone is #19 at the far end in the old section.  My husband and I were there a few weeks ago, but could not find the stone.  We went three times and each time it was so windy, the snow came down sideways.  We have since returned to Canada.
Is it possible for someone to go there again and reconfirm that the stone is no longer standing?  I can email a plan of the cemetery and it's location.  If they could take a picture of the stone in it's current condition and the surrounding area so that I can reconfirm that either we missed it or it is in fact is no longer standing.  We were able to find other Armit family stones around it ie #21.  It's one of those nagging unfinished type feelings to an otherwise great trip.
I would be very grateful for this help.
Nancy Armit
