Thank you for elaborating  :)

There is a John Shackleford marriage to Ann Perry in Westminster 7 Oct 1816.

Witnesses Thomas Shackleford and Rebecca Chapman.

John was a bachelor so any children born prior must be a different couple.  If Eliza Perry born Reading 1817 was the first child of this couple then they must have moved soon after marriage.

I'm not sure that those are all one family, they could be two different ones. You have Eliza baptised 1817 in Reading and John baptised 1819 the same place, so I think it unlikely that they would have had a child between those two baptised in a completely different place and county.

The 1816 marriage of John SHACKLEFORD & Ann PERRY is an excellent find. That is going to help me heaps. :)

I will get a copy of the marriage banns image when I next visit the library.

Best Regards
Grantley :) :)

I still feel a cert or 2  would be a good idea to confirm if Eliza Shackleford is the mother of the children shown on the census

I eventually caught up with everyone.

Congratulations with all your finds. Those spelling variations, on the indexes, was certainly a challenge that I would never has mastered on my own.

I sincerely appreciate your help.

Best Regards
Grantley  ;D

If you need concrete evidence then a cert or two will give you the answer

Happy hunting
