Herbert and Hilda JONES (nee Harling)

from Uncle Herbie's army records he appears to have married Hilda on 04 Oct 1915 at Wrexham Register Office.

They had a son in 1916 called William Harold Jones in Wrexham.

It then appears they had a daughter Vera in Warrington, Lancashire in 1920; a daughter Amy in Wigan, Lancashire in 1922 and perhaps a daughter Hazel M Jones in 1938 in Wycombe, Buckinghamshire! (Guess work!)

There is a William Harold Jones who died in Wycombe, Bucks in 1971 with a 1916 birth date!

Anyone out there connected to this Jones branch who can fill in the details of Herbert and Hilda?

Hilda Jones in 1939 reg has a crossed out surname in green ink, with Howell surname written above - her date of death in the same green ink written in as 11 Nov 1970 - confirmed with cremation details in Wrexham on 13 Nov 1970 - appears to have married Ernest George Howell in 1868 in Wrexham.

Herbert Jones (b. 23 FEB 1892 - a groom / chauffeur) remains a mystery - he was alive in 1965 at his brother's funeral - my Nan's father, she was there and was moved he was able to make it... 2 certificates ordered now (between 1965 and 1968) both have given the wrong Herbert -

1968 aged 75 dist. BRIXWORTH a daughter of K V Jones informant occupation retired van driver
1966 aged 73 dist. ST.ASAPH a son W H Jones informant but occupation miles out and a widow listed as Sarah in probate

back to the drawing board again!
