Thanks so much. The Ann Soars info is interesting as I've found a Louisa Wood residing with her sister Ann Browne in the 1881 census and wondered if it was my Louisa. Looks like it may be a possibility.

With regards to Thomas' marriages in his death certificate found in his probate record, that is just a few. I am trying to untangle a mess - I'm having trouble matching children to mothers but someone has a tree online that has eight wives. It seems quite clear to me that he was still married to Louisa or had divorced when he married his next one.

Doesn't help that Thomas' occupation seems to change from census to census either.

Hopefully tenacity will solve the problems

Ann Browne looks a strong possibility for Ann. I was looking for Ann and Richard Clark according to that marriage.

I have seen the marriage now and you can see that he has written Clark over Browne ???
