im looking for info about James Valentine , his ancestors.
He was born 03 jan 1897. Montrose,angus,Scotland
Married Agnes Duncan Foreman 1903
Died 10 March 1946 ,Dundee ,angus ,Scotland
His son Walter,1909 , migrated to Australia in 1951 , my grandfather

Hi, there is a James Valentine aged 2, born in Montrose, registered in the 1881 census at 19 Kincardine Street, Montrose.

The other members of the household include:

James B Valentine, 43, Free Stone Mason, born Montrose
Grace Valentine, 41, Mason's Wife, born Orkney
John Valentine, 15, Saw Mills Labourer, born Montrose
Mathew S Valentine, 14, Flax Factory Worker, born Montrose
Grace M Valentine, 3, born Montrose

And if this is the right one, the family is still in Kincardine Street, Montrose in the 1891 census:

James aged 53, Mason
Grace aged 51
Grace M aged 13, Dressmaker's Apprentice
James aged 12, Scholar
Lizzie aged 9, Scholar, born Montrose
Walter aged 7, Scholar, born Montrose

James B Valentine married Grace Webster on 12 November 1875 in Montrose.

The 2 eldest children of James B Valentine on the 1881 census, John and Matthew, are from James B Valentine's first marriage it would appear.

The 1871 census records a household at 6 King Street, Montrose:

James Valentine, 34, Mason, born Montrose
Helen Valentine, 28, born Galston, Ayrshire
John Valentine, 5, Scholar, born Montrose
Matthew Valentine, 4, born Montrose

James Browesty Valentine married Helen Paterson on 29 December 1864 at Loudoun, Ayrshire.

I had a look on Scotlands People. There are 9 deaths for Valentines with mother's maiden name given as Foreman. Seven of these are in Dundee.

At least, therefore, 9 siblings for your grandfather, Linda  :)

Scottish Probate Record reads:

"Valentine, James Breuster, Mason, 19 Kincardine Street, Montrose, died 23 May 1900, testate. Confirmation granted at Forfar, 25 November, to Grace Webster or Valentine, 19 Kincardine Street, aforesaid, his widow, Executrix nominated in Will or Deed dated 31 March 1896, and recorded in Court Books of Commissariot of Forfar, 24 November 1903. Value of Estate, £151, 16s, 10d."
