Correct on both counts!
Although the 'workforce photo' received as out of focus, can't make out what the sign shows.
I usually scan about 600dpi to get maximum definition.
[Have now moved over to my desktop machine (windows 7 rather than laptop using 10) will try again and see what happens]

Hi all,

Brian emailed me the photo's and in his reply above he says he can't make out the writing on the sign. I read it as;- CHADWICK BROS LTD, ENGINEERS, HERE IN 1898

Although the photo is very fuzzy I think that is what the sign says.

Hello Benji and welcome to Rootschat.

There is a Oliver Stansfield b. 22/5/1885 to Oliver and Rhoda Stansfield (nee Carter) who would probably fit the bill.

Oliver and Rhoda married St Wilfrid, Calverley on 2nd December 1866.

Father Oliver died Q4 1884 Bfd. 9b 164 age 42.

1901 census Rhoda is re-married to Giles Pounds and living in Bradford and young Oliver is a Under Woollen Overlooker.

I regret I don't have time at the moment to follow this through but I'm sure my friend Brian will look into this further for you.
