Request for Burial Details for David William HOWARD
« on: Saturday 25 June 16 04:10 BST (UK) »
Hi Chasing Fireflies,

Would you be able to provide the location in the Llangynwyd cemetery of my mother's ancestor:

David William HOWARD died 1871, aged about 80,
in Twmpath Cottages, Llangynwyd (FreeBMD Neath Dec/11a/345) and
was buried at St Cynwyd, Llangynwyd on 13/12/1871 (Parish Register FreeREG File 11284).

I will send a link to your PM as requested in your Offer.

Regards,
AUS_Mike

Had a quick look in memorial inscription index. No sign of any Howard graves listed.

Hi WelshJo,

Thank you for your prompt response to my post.  My apologies for my delay in getting back to you.

I did receive a PM on this matter from another RootsChatter who kindly provided some details from the Llangynwyd burial register and some referrals which, unfortunately, have not yielded any extra information.

Does your copy of the memorial inscriptions register contain the burial plot number from which each inscription was taken?

If so, would you please let me know what the inscription is for plot number 582A as this may have been David Howard's grave originally.

If not, please let me know anyway and I will mark this post as completed.

Thanks again and Best Regards,
Mike

The memorial inscription survey does not contain plot numbers. It is just a record of all inscriptions at the time the survey was performed. It does contain a small map but that only references to the numbers assigned to each inscription. Does not reference original plot numbers. The references in the inscriptions are letter then number. There is no A582. Section A runs A1 to A248.
Sorry

Hi Moderator,

I'm sorry but my browsers (Chrome & IE) are not displaying a "MODIFY" button for this post so that I can't mark the subject line as "Completed".

Would you please take care of this?

Mike
