Definitely not your person of interest

Wm STANTON, 42, Portsmouth,  Able seaman, arrived Sydney NSW on the BAKARA on the 7 Mar 1919.

Inquest at the City Coroner's Court stated Wm STANTON 42 was from Portsmouth, England and cause of death haemorrhage from a wound in this throat artfully inflicted by himself.

First Offenders under Crime Act of 1900.
The following offenders have been released under the provisions of the above Act:-

William Andrew STANTON (33) tried at the Central Police Court 14 Feb 1912 embezzlement; sentence, one month hard labour.  To be of good behaviour for one month.

Further mentions for wife desertion.
10 Nov 1915, 12 Jan 1916, 3 May 1916 and 9 Aug 1922.

The last mention in 1922 was a warrant for his arrest.
