Farming in Russia c.1930
« on: Tuesday 19 July 16 18:06 BST (UK) »
Is it possible that a livestock farmer from Dorset could have upped sticks, moved to the Soviet Union and carry on his trade c.1930?
I'm attempting to research a guy that went off radar between 1924 and 1937 and I'm lead to believe he spent some time in Russia, fueled by the fact he named his daughter Olga on his return in 1938. I'm assuming he could even been involved in heavy industry instead of agriculture.
My problem is that I'm assuming Stalins Russia was in lockdown and not admitting aliens, also the 5 year plans would have been in operation making the place not very nice to be in.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts and comments on this. Thanks.
