Hello,

Have you checked https://www.freebmd.org.uk for the marriage and birth?
You will need to get the marriage certificate to ensure you have the right Joseph.
Regards
Heywood

You check for a WW1 death on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission website - www.cwgc.org.

If he married in 1919 he couldn't have died in WW1.
Have you looked for him on the 1939 Register ?

Baptism at Temple Balsall, 11 August 1878
Joseph
parents Benjamin + Eliza Whitehead
abode Balsall
father a Carpenter
(born) May 30th 1878

Curiously, there is an army service record for a Benjamin Joseph Whitehead, 13881, attested Royal Artillery, February 1896
Born Balsall nr Coventry, 18 years old, a Groom
Next of kin, father Benjamin Whitehead, Balsall Street, Berkswell nr Coventry
Later next of kin - wife Margaret
Married Margaret Sullivan (spinster), 12.11.08, Cork
Says he was discharged, medically unfit, Sep 1912

Balsall Street is where Benjamin + Eliza were in 1891 (with Joseph), 1901 (no Joseph)

thank you so much , it would seem I was told wrongly that he had died in the war. benjamin and eliza were my great grandparents.but I had no idea he had lived in Ireland or married.
