Elsie Butters DOB 1/10/1909

Elsie is on the 1939 register as single, but above her surname it states Bailey, which I guess is who she later married. However I can find no trace of a marriage. She was living at the time in Sheffield doing Paid Domestic Duties.

variant spellings?

Elsie Bailey married George Buttress in Sheffield Dec 1953

Elsie Buttress with the dob you quote died aged 94 in May 2004 in Sheffield

Have you looked at the image rather than the transcription?
