Just seems strange how little information there seems to be on it. There are some documents listed on the St Helens archive website, maybe its worth dropping them an email or ringing them to see if they know of any usual practices at that hospital?

Yes I've had a scout about and found nothing that leaps out at me

I did ask St Helens Archives for help and they told me to locate the medical records of the Cottage Hospital which may list what happened to the deceased, collected by which funeral home...etc!

No further on really.

I did ask Manchester Crem, if Nellie was cremated there and sadly no details matched their records!

Just need a descendant to come forward who may already have the info in their family papers - here's hoping!
