Ashford/Townsend marriage
« on: Friday 22 July 16 11:33 BST (UK) »
I have the record of the marrriage of George Ashford (1887) and my first cousin once removed, Elizabeth Townsend (1887-1928) at St James, Ashted, on 11 Nov 1907. I have the birth of one son, George (1909-1986) but no more information. Please can anyone provide more?

Keith

You probably need to look at the 1911 census?
But, as that is still covered by copyright issues, we can't tell you what is on there?!

Thanks KGarrad. I found the first child using BMD but hadn't spotted that one.

Thanks Jim. That's very useful.

I have a death registration for an Elizabeth Ashford in Birmingham in 1928 and now have a marriage  for George Jr in Q2 1931 to Rosie M Bowen. BMD shows five births from 1932 of Ashfords with mother's name Bowen but these must represent two distinct families because two of the births are in consecutive quarters.

As they married same quarter, same year perhaps they had a double wedding.

Jim you're obviously seeing something I'm not. Are you suggesting that two brothers married two sisters? If so, who was the other brotheer?
