Thanks Willsy.  Your assistantance is always appreciated anyway.

Can anyone see a death for Samuel?!  There are a few in Derby BUT Martha was baptised at Cossington, Leics in 1797 to Samuel and Mary.  I've also got Thomas bc 1797 (he died 1842 aged 45)supposedly in Leicestershire.

Thomas Newey of Upper Charles Street buried 24 Feb 1842 aged 45.

There is also a Banns record in 1799 of a Thomas Newey and a Jane Holliday.

Claire

That's my 4th gr grandfather.  I should of worded myself better before.  I know Thomas NEWEY died in 1942 aged 45.  He was SUPPOSEDLY born in Leicestershire c1797 according to the 1841 census.  Martha witnessed his 1822 marriage in the same month as hers at St. Margarets.

I haven't come across Thomas and Jane HOLLIDAY 1799 yet.

Hi bitzar

No need for apologies  :)

I put up the 1799 marriage on the chance this Thomas could be a brother/ relation of Samuel and given the year of marriage - possibly 'your' Thomas's parents.

I can't see a baptism for Thomas in Leicestershire or Derbyshire.

And can't see a burial for Samuel Newey either.

I cant see a baptism for Thomas anywhere either.

I'm running with Thomas being the brother of Martha at the moment, because of her witness mark on his MC.  The other witness was Thomas LANGHAM, who married Martha 15 days later.  Thomas NEWEY also had a son Samuel.

Possibly earlier than you are looking for but there is a baptism at Marple Bridge Independent, Derbyshire in 1794.

Thomas the son of Saml Neewey and his wife Marple New Twoun was bapd by me J Bartle Oct 14 1794

"New Twoun" is written as Newtown on other baptisms, so it's possible that Neewey should be Newey.
