Help searching for John Steenson (Johnston Stevenson)
« on: Monday 01 August 16 12:14 BST (UK) »
Trying to find any information about my GGG Grandad. Any help or tips would be greatly appreciated. Just started getting to grips with finding information on Scottish ancestors so dont really know where to look for Irish information.

I have found a little information on him with variations of his name. John, Johnston, Stevenson, Steenson and Seenson.

He was an army pensioner.

Hi father is listed on his marriage certificates as William Steenson.

He was married to Mary Thompson in 1884 in MILLTOWN CI. He then became a Widower.

He was married to Rachel (Rachael) Mcadam(s) on 23-Jul-1886 in MILLTOWN CI. (Rachel was born 1867 in Loughgall. they are both listed as full ages on the marriage cert)

They had 3 children, William born 1887 in TARTARAGHAN CP, John born 1888 in TARTARAGHAN CP and David George born May 1892 in LOUGHGALL.

He died somewhere between 1891 and 1916 as Rachel remarried in 1916 and was listed as a widow.

Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

Thank you Hallmark. That narrows down the window for when John died.
