I have found a reference to a marriage settlement in the B&NES record office and I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the woman mentioned was married twice.

In the document it states "Mary Poole, widow of Thomas Poole of the parish of Monkton Combe Somerset, yeoman and also widow of Thomas Shute of Monkton Combe, gent"

I already know that Thomas Shute was married to Mary Huson (daughter of Richard Huson, rector of Claverton) in 1743. Could she also have been married to Thomas Poole or is it more likely that the Thomas Poole, Mary Poole and Thomas Shute mentioned above are different people (could that Thomas Shute and Mary be the parents of the Thomas who married Mary Huson)?

The reference for the document is 0339/4/12

I hope someone can help provide some possible clues.

Matthew
