I'm in a very far-flung twig on my tree.
I'm looking at the wife of my great-great-uncle; Annie Jane Snelling; her mother was Jane Savory, who married John Snelling.
John Snelling died in 1871, and Jane Savory remarried (1879), to a James Matthew (not "Matthews", that fooled me in a lot of searches
)
Since the marriage showed James Matthew as a Widow, I searched for his first wife, and didn't find "much".
His 1861 census ( RG 9/1146/55 p 1;) shows him at Harleston Hall, along with a hard to read wife; "Mary Ann" (I think), age 31, born Woolpit.
(it also shows his surname with a single 't', which fooled my searching for a while)
So that's DOB circa 1830.
The only other record I've found is FreeBMD;
Marriages Dec 1852 Jackson Mary Anne Stow 0 4a 1021
Marriages Dec 1852 MATTHEW James Stow 0 4a 1021
James Matthew's 1871 census ( RG10/1733/72 p 9)
gives his status as "widw", so "Mary Anne Matthew" has died by then.
That's all I've got on her - a 1861 census entry, and 1871 implied death, and a marriage.
In particular, I cannot find Mary Anne's 1851 and 1841 census, nor her death, but as always, all information is good.
All help gratefully received.
(reading back over that, she's my great-great-great-aunt's second husband's first wife!!)
