Dear all,I have been researching the Spark etc.family in Somerset and South Wales.The earliest record I have is a marriage in Burnham on 6/april/1796 between John Sparke(b.~1772) and Jane Palmer(b.1776).John and Jane had a son Joel(1802-1846) Sparks.Joel married Elizabeth Palfrey in 1823 Bridgwater.Joel had a son Michael christened 25/sept/1825 in Chedzoy.Michael married Lucy Whale in Newport,Monmouthshire in 1857(j/a/s).Michael and Lucy had a son Joel(b.~1862) b.Cardiff who married Annie Richards in Cardiff(Roath) 1881(o/n/d).Joel and Annie had a son William Henry b. Cardiff 1883.William Henry Sparks married Edith Annie Weston in 1908(a/m/j)Cardiff.William Henry had a son Ivor (Edgar)Sparkes(b.1909(o/n/d) who married Dorothy M Phillips in 1934 in Pontypridd(Glamorgan).I would be grateful if anyone can go back earlier than the marriage in 1796 Burnham..kind regards Ivorglyn

Dear robo196,I have been searching for the John Sparke who married Jane Palmer.The marriage was not in 1796 but in 1800.The place was Chedzoy NOT Burnham.The best place to find Chedzoy records and close surrounds is on freereg.The records for births for a John Spark(e or s) I found are 1)John spark b.31/oct/1747 parents Richard and Sarah(probably Fisher) who married in Weston Zoyland on 6/dec/1735.This John Spark probably married Betty Stringer in nov/1769 in Chedzoy so he can be eliminated..2)John Day Sparks b.28/jan/1775 in East Brent..3)John Sparke Davis(base born) 27/august/1769 with mother Mary Davis in Chedzoy.If anyone has other possibilities or any further info please let me know..kind regards to all ivorglyn
