« on: Thursday 18 August 16 20:50 BST (UK) »
I have an Alexandra L Hollington marrying a Richard J Foster 2Q 1911 in Edmonton Middlesex England  in 1916 Alexandra Louise Foster marries Frederick Charles Harrison in Penge Surrey England
Her husband Richard James Foster appears to have been killed 19 July 1915 on the CWGC site he was Son of Richard and Mary Foster, of Littlemore, Oxford; husband of A. L. Foster, of 16, Westbourne Grove, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. However  can find no trace of the couple going to Australia or of the widow returning to UK
Any help appreciated.

From passenger arrivals index there is a Richard FOSTER who arrived on Orvieto from London on 31 October 1911.
Passenger list http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/Interface/ViewImage.aspx?B=12242785&S=1

There are also R FOSTER and Mrs FOSTER's who arrived in the period

Sorry in a rush (plumber coming) so I haven't time to look through the passenger lists

Thank you both for the information. Mr R Fosterr and Mrs Foster departed London on Orvieto 29 Sep 1911 and arrived Sydney 9 Nov 1911. in both reports he is shown as a Bricklayer. There was also a R Foster a Painter on board
I now need to find Richard returning to UK probably around the time of WW1 starting and Mrs Foster returning Probably late 1915

I think most likely Richard James FOSTER and wife Alexandra Louise nee HOLLINGTON, did not travel to Australia.

The details about family from the CWGC site are not contemporary with the events ie death of Richard James FOSTER d. 19 Jul 1915. The information for CWGC records was collected over several years, with input from family.

I think that the informants would be Richard's family, who, several years later are identifying the wife of the dead man as FOSTER, who is then, at the time the information is given, Mrs Alexandra Louise HARRISON of 16 Westbourne Grove.

Thank you Merlin. You have solved my problem and also solved what happened to Frederick Charles Harrison whose marriage to Alexandra Louise Foster really started my query as on the marriage certificate she is described as a Spinster but after seeing her father was  Henry St Joseph Hollington I wanted to know why she was surnamed Foster,
Sorry about the Typo when I wrongly wrote Power instead of Foster,
I shall now trace the Harrison's journey to Australia.
