Beatrice married 18 Apr 1942 Belgrave ,Victoria according to the newspaper item, she married George A'Vard (Its on FindMyPast luckily there was a free weekend for us to view Australian records ) :)

Australia records are free all year on the Gov sites. I don't have any subscriptions to anything.

Having said that I guess it has its advantages when Gov sites play up. If I put her name into search it only shows the marriage I put up previously. Yet, if I just put in A'vard surname only, up she pops in the list.

Did you see the death notice for George Alexander?

\this has all been very interesting but leaves me with the problem of my mother's version Lily Wyatt was not Aunt but her step great Aunt I wonder why my grandparents were even asked to join the plan  ??? Still its good to identify the people involvrd. Many thanks for turning up such a full and interesting story. :)

I don't think so (but not sure).  It sounds as if Lily's husband was a farmer and she took in some paying guests at the farmhouse in Emerald.  The pictured guesthouse is in Healsville which the Vic experts said is a distance from Emerald.
