Thanks for these. I had found the first one - for Jessie - but not for William.  Both in the same year too!

The year of death is incorrect for William. He died 27 Aug. 1971.

According to a couple newspaper articles he fell and broke his hip on 14 Aug. 1971 and was taken to Physicians Medical Unit at Plattsburgh, NY. That is where he died Friday morning on 27 Aug. 1971. The article confirms he was buried at Norton Cemetery.

Hi,
It appears they were married 14 Jan. 1908.
It appears they went back to Scotland/England in 1947. On the passenger ship records there is a column to do with naturalization. It gives when they were naturalized as well as when they were married.

I'd picked up on that one too, thanks. There's another later one, if I recall, with relations. The must have enjoyed sailing on  the "Q.E."    and who wouldn't?

I'd also found the US SS Death record for William on Family Search that gave me the August 1971 date. It seemed odd that FindaGrave had the same death/burial years for them - although I know it does happen!

If you want the local daily gossip on William go to the link below for newspaper that covers Keene during their time there. It full of tidbits...they visited there children a lot and traveled  away from there a lot during the winter months.
