There is a family tree on Anc that appears to have details of the same family but lists Ann Maria as Ann Maria Standley Smith b 1835 Edinburgh.   I don't know if you have access to Anc but in case  http://person.ancestry.co.uk/tree/8104705/person/1429311125/facts

The tree  lists the 1860 marriage of Ann Maria to George  Smith as 3 June 1860  at St. Peter's Church, Maidstone and her father as Frederick Smith so presumably they have access to the marriage cert??   It might be worth contacting the tree owner.

Thank you for that, I have had a look at ancestry and it has given me something to go on now. I will contact the tree owner and see if they have any certificates.

Thanks everyone for your help, I sent for the marriage certificate and have found out that her maiden name was Blakeney, her father's name was Henry or Harry Blakeney. Another discrepancy I have found was that Ann Maria was aged 30 when she married George Smith in 1860, therefore her year of birth was 1830 not 1835 as stated in the family bible... the search goes on.
