Thomas Joyce and Margaret Smith's children (c1910)
« on: Tuesday 06 September 16 22:34 BST (UK) »
Margaret Smyth or Smith was born in Belvue, Nenagh, Ireland in February 1876. Around the turn of the century (perhaps earlier), so decided to emigrate, and moved to America where she met and married a Thomas Joyce.

They had two children, Margaret and Michael, around 1910. Around 1914, the family came 'home' to Belvue, but Margaret's sister, Bridget, did not get on at all well with Tom Joyce, and so Tom and his daughter Margaret returned to the USA. Michael and his mother remained in Belvue. Margaret died and was buried on 9th April 1959.

Within a few days, Michael headed off to England and stayed in touch with the family only briefly. It is unknown if he had family.

His American dwelling sister Margaret is believed to have had family, but died in the late 1980s.

Just wanting to see if anyone can help me track down anything that became of Michael and Margaret. Finding where they were born would be a good start, too!

Thanks, Lisa!

I see no reason why this family shouldn't fit into the 'story so far'. Assuming the story is right though, then...
Margaret needs to go from Ireland to the US
The family need to go from US to Ireland
The family need to go from Ireland to US (provided by you - 12/6/1920)
Then Margaret and her son return to Ireland. Unless Margaret and her *two* children return to Ireland, leaving young Margaret free to return to the US In 1934...?
