Sorry-just going to ask questions! :)

Have you tried spelling variations? (TYNDALL,etc)?

Have you purchased his marriage cert to find out his father's name?

Purchased his death cert? It looks like this one: on Scotlands People:1976   TINDAL   ADAM WALTER age 84   BLAIRGOWRIE   /PERTH AND KINROSS
(also under TYNDALL).

He really looks like the son of John and Isabella living in Monrose St in 1901 Scotland census but the age is "off".

Maureen :)

He was at the same address in 1891 having been born that year.

Hi Maureen
I have tried all sorts of wild cards on Scotland's people and cannot find his birth.

Hi Imber

1891 birth year would work he probably gave his age on the 1911 census as age next birthday.

He was married in london in 1911

Did you see his certificate? It's on SP under Adam Tyndall, 1891.

Hi Bruce,

Were you looking specifically for Adam Walter T*ND*L* or just Adam T*ND*L* when you searched for his birth?

Have you found him (or what looks like him) on the 1939 register?

I have the strangest feeling that he wanted to seem older than he really was and gave his brother Walter's dob. (and possibly added his name as a middle name).
Walter's CEF form is here:

Hope someone out there understands what I'm babbling about. ;D

Maureen

Edit: Sorry-Imber-I kind of overlapped there!
