Phillip Wheatley - Birth/Baptism and Death/Burial Records

Hello,

I'm looking for a baptism record of Phillip Wheatley. Through using Ancestry, other trees have stated he was born in 1734 in Lenton, Nottinghamshire. Unfortunately, none of these have any sources to state this being true.

His marriage was on 17 May 1744 in Attenborough to Elizabeth Hardy. The record states at the time that his abode was Beeston.

With regards to his death, Ancestry trees again, state was on 19 Jan 1777 in Lenton, Nottinghamshire. Still no sources to show whether this is true.

I wondered if anyone more skilled in Parish records could help me out a little? I find it unlikely that he was born in Lenton, moved to Beeston, and moved back again, but through years of researching, I've found anything is possible!

I looked for his wife's death record, which is apparently in 1765, registered in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. At a total loss with this, if anyone can help I'd be really grateful!

You state that Phillip was born in 1734 and that he married in 1744 that would mean he married at ten years of age. Something not right there.

I cannot see a baptism for a Phillip Wheatley in Lenton Nottinghamshire but there is a marriage for a Philip Wheatley on Family Search in 1768 at Lenton Nottingham to a Ann Boughton. Could this possibly be the Phillip you are researching.

Sorry, yes that is what others have stated on their trees, obviously it's not possible. I believe he would have been baptised in Beeston, and would have also died there. But I'm not 100% sure.

I believe he married Elizabeth, as she is also mentioned on his children's baptism records.

Looking at the Notts FHS baptism cd I couldn't find any baptism for Philip.
His marriage is on the Notts FHS marriage cd:
17 May 1744 Attenborough St Mary the Virgin Philip Wheatly to Elizabeth Hardy . No more information.

There are the following baptisms:
17 Feb 1745 John
12 Mar 1749 Jane
3 Apr 1751 Elizabeth
25 Nov 1753 Philip
4 Nov 1756 Jane
31 Mar 1758 Jos

all at Beeston St John.

And the following burials:
4 Dec 1752 Jane dau of Philip and Eliz    Beeston St John the Baptist
14 Dec 1752 Elizabeth dau of Philip and Eliz  Beeston St John the Baptist
7 Nov 1765 Elizabeth Wheatly wife of Philip    Lenton Priory
19 Jan 1777 Philip Wheatly  labourer        Lenton Priory
22 Dec 1815 Philip Wheatly  age 65         Lenton Priory

There is a burial at Lenton 19.1. 1777 Philip Wheatley, Labourer

There's also a baptism at Lenton in 1778 for a Philip son of Philip and Elizabeth Wheatly. I'd guess that this Philip was the one baptised in 1753 and married Elizabeth Swann in Lenton in 1777.

On FamilySearch there's a possible baptism:
