Belfast City Cemetery Records -- possible error??
« on: Wednesday 21 September 16 10:18 BST (UK) »
Hello,

At Belfast City Cemetery Section P2 Grave 628, therein lies a James Frederick Vennard who died in 1908 aged 6.  This person lived at 9 Agra Street.  Within this grave lies some of my Henry ancestors, and I know that in about 1906-7 Samuel Henry & family lived at 5 Agra Street.  But I'm not aware of any Vennard's in my Henry family tree, so was wondering if this Vennard grave entry might be an error in the records??  The link is here:

https://ssl.belfastcity.gov.uk/burialsearch/BurialSearch.aspx?GraveSection=P2&GraveNumber=628&CemeteryName=City%20Cemetery

Would Samuel have let a neighbour bury his son in the Henry family grave??

Best wishes,
Paul.

Hello again,

I think I have found the link between the Vennard and Henry families so I happy to report that this query can be closed.

Many thanks,
Paul.

I was in the City Cemetery this morning, looking for a couple of other graves.  They told me there is no headstone on section P2, plot 628.  I'm afraid I didn't think to ask about Vennard.

By chance I spotted a Samuel Henry in section K2, but he died in 1895 so I assumed he's not yours and didn't photograph the stone.  Am I guilty of negligence?

Although Paul has posted that he found a link between the child and the family, just wanted to remind others who might read the thread in the future, that it was not unusual for children, especially, to be buried in a plot with others who were not related to them.
