Civil Registration – A Registrar's View

The first document most family history researchers look at will be a birth, marriage or death certificate – but do we take them for granted? How well do we really understand how that certificate was created?

Antony Marr will look at the complex rules that govern the process of registering these vital life events and how to spot the subtle differences in informant qualifications, declarations, re-registrations and corrections which can be crucial in interpreting these important records correctly.
